Privacy

How I handle personal information when you visit this website, contact me or work with me.

Who is responsible

Irene Watt consultancy services are provided by Watt Ventures Group Pty Ltd. ABN: 78700386045. GST registered.

For privacy requests or complaints, use the privacy and complaints form or write to Watt Ventures Group Pty Ltd, Level 13, 50, Cavill Avenue, Surfers Paradise, Gold Coast, Queensland, 4217, Australia.

Information I collect

When you enquire or make a request or complaint, I collect the details you provide. These may include your name, email address, phone number, organisation, website and a summary of the advice, event or issue you want to discuss.

If we work together, I also collect the information needed to agree on and deliver the work, communicate with you, arrange payment and maintain business records. This may include agreed business documents and billing details.

Website and email services may process technical information such as IP addresses, browser and device details, pages visited, dates and times, and delivery or security logs. Please don’t send passwords, identity documents or sensitive customer records through the contact forms.

How I collect and use information

I collect information directly through the website forms, subscriptions, correspondence and meetings. During an engagement, I may review your public website and material you or your authorised representatives provide for the agreed work.

I use this information to respond to enquiries, assess whether I can help, prepare proposals, deliver agreed services, manage requests and complaints, maintain security and meet record-keeping obligations. I don’t sell personal information.

Newsletters and email tracking

If you separately subscribe to my newsletter, I use your subscription details to send updates and marketing messages through Brevo. Sending an enquiry or making a complaint does not subscribe you to a newsletter. You can unsubscribe using the link in a marketing email or ask me through the contact form.

I also use Brevo for transactional messages and automation, such as confirmations and client communications. Email tracking records delivery, opens and link clicks and may associate that activity with your contact record. Open tracking uses a small image; email and browser privacy settings can affect what is recorded.

Unsubscribing from marketing does not stop messages needed to respond to your request or administer an existing engagement.

Google Analytics and cookies

Google Analytics helps me understand website visits, page use and enquiries. It uses cookies and similar identifiers and processes information about your browser, device and activity on this website. Google Analytics 4 does not log or store individual IP addresses.

I use analytics for website measurement, not Google Ads remarketing or advertising audiences. I don’t send the names, email addresses, messages or documents entered in the forms to Google Analytics.

You can limit cookies through your browser settings. Google also offers a browser add-on to opt out of Google Analytics. Blocking cookies may affect some website functions.

The thank-you page temporarily stores your first name and selected enquiry type in your browser session to personalise the confirmation. It does not put those details in the page URL. The personalisation expires after 30 minutes.

Service providers and overseas processing

Enquiries are saved in the website’s submission system. Website hosting, hosted email, delivery services and analytics providers process information to provide those services. Providers may also use supporting infrastructure and authorised personnel for security, support and operation of their services.

The website and hosted email are hosted in the United States. Brevo reports database hosting in France, Germany and Belgium. Google processes analytics information using its international infrastructure, including in the United States and other countries where it operates.

I don’t give assistants or subcontractors access to enquiry records or client documents. I may disclose information with your permission or where required or authorised by law, including to respond to a lawful request or resolve a dispute.

Client material and desktop AI

With your prior written agreement, I may use AI tools that run entirely on my own desktop to assist with the agreed work. Client material is not sent to external AI services. I use only the material covered by that agreement and review the resulting work myself.

You can decline AI use. Any effect on the proposed scope, timing or fee will be explained and agreed before the work starts.

Security and retention

I use multifactor authentication on business accounts and restrict access to business records. I take reasonable steps to protect information from unauthorised access, loss or misuse.

Unsuccessful enquiries are retained for up to two years after the last substantive contact, unless needed for an ongoing request, complaint or legal obligation. Company financial records are kept for at least seven years after the relevant transactions are completed, and longer where required.

Other client material is deleted or de-identified when no longer needed for the agreed work, business administration, resolving issues or legal obligations. Subscription details are kept while you remain subscribed; a limited suppression record may be retained to honour an unsubscribe request. Analytics and email activity are subject to the retention settings of those services.

Access, corrections and deletion

You can use the privacy and complaints form or the postal address above to ask for access to your information, a correction or deletion. Please describe your request without attaching identity documents. I may need to confirm your identity before providing information or making changes.

I’ll consider your request and explain any limits, such as records I need to retain or information that also concerns another person.

Complaints

If you have a privacy concern, use the privacy and complaints form or write to the postal address above. Tell me what happened and the outcome you’re seeking.

I’ll acknowledge a privacy complaint within five business days and aim to provide a response within 30 days. If more time is needed, I’ll explain why and keep you updated.

If you remain dissatisfied, you can seek guidance about available options from the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner. Its ability to consider a complaint depends on whether the matter falls within its jurisdiction.

Updates

I’ll update this notice when my information-handling arrangements change. The current version will be available on this page.
